162 GAMES!

Well it isn't 211 games, but at least AROD is getting suspended for the entire 2014 season, including the playoffs. I don't know about you, but I have never really liked the guy, not because of PEDs or anything, he just never came across as a good role model type of player. Rodriguez keeps talking about fighting this all the way to Federal Court, so we will see if he can chew more of it away. It is honestly a benefit for the Yankees to get him off the payroll this season. Not only has he been dealing with frequent injury issues, but when he is healthy striking out has been one of his common plate appearances.  With Cano gone, the Yankees need some clutch, consistent offense. Not what AROD provides.  He stands among the top homerun hitters in history, but like what Bonds and Clemens are going through, I doubt Alex will have any luck getting into the HOF.
In other news, Rangers starter Holland will miss the first half of the season with a knee injury.  It was unclear what the cause of this was, but he recently released a statement claiming it was his dog that made him fall.  So tough break for the Texas Rangers as one of their main guys will be absent for the first half of the year. We will see if the Angels finally have a year to remember with their roster or of the A's can still battle it out with the Rangers. With the addition of Choo, the offense of the Rangers should hold its strength, we just need to see if Darvish can bring the heat again.
Puig finally hung up the wheel after his second reckless driving charge in the last eight months.  The Dodger power hitter looks to stay out of trouble and focus on the game after growing a feeling of ruling the world and being able to do what he wants in any situation.  The Dodgers look to dominate the NL West in the coming season, but they will get along easier by avoiding off the field issues such as this.
Strasbourg and the Nats agreed to a deal for one year at just under 4 million. They avoided arbitration and agreed to the one year contract with performance bonuses.  The Nationals look to turn things around and have a rebound type season after the slip up last year.  Strasbourg should help that cause after his last career high season in Ks.
Verlander to under go surgery after his offseason injury.  He is in need of muscle repair and looks to be getting ready for the next season. The Tigers hope he makes a full recovery so that he can help in their easy domination of the AL Central again. Even with a slacking Verlander and Scherzer not putting up the same numbers, the Royals are the only thing they have to worry about in any kind of competition, as I expect the Indians to decline with their many veterans.
