Is there any slowing these guys down??

The Reds, Yankees and Dodgers are by far some of the hottest teams in baseball right now. Cincinnati just finished a sweep at Citi Field against the New York Mets with Votto, Phillips and today Cueto playing amazing. I was there for game one of the series and there just did not seem to be a way to slow down the Reds offense. Votto got on in nearly every at bat, as he has been all season weather it be by hit, walk or as I saw hit by pitch. Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips each got credited a homerun, Phillips put it over the wall as Bruce speed around the bases on the Jason Bay injury. The Reds have just been clutch with their swings and dominant with their arms. The headlines said it right, Arroyo is a Mets killer, he fooled everyone with his off speed stuff, even setting Wright down on three pitches. The Reds just kept that up through the series as Johnny Cueto finished it off today keeping the Mets quiet with his breaking balls. Then of course don't forget about Chapman and what he has brought to the table this year. Dusty Baker is under some pressure this year, but he is showing that he has currently got things under control as the Reds have won 6 straight and are looking down on the other five teams in their division.

The New York Yankees have been coming to life, everyone was questioning where they were at the beginning of the season as it was the Orioles way out in front with the Rays. The big bats did not seem to be present with Texiera not catching any breaks a little production coming from Cano and ARod. Now 9 wins in a row, the Yankees, lead by the power of Curtis Granderson have been putting up the offense and keeping their opponents quiet with Nova and Sabathia doing great on the mound. With the sweep of the Nationals complete, the Yankees have now jumped out in front of the division where they see themselves fit and their rival Red Sox still dwelling at the bottom. Jeter has been having a hot bat and the big power has been coming from Granderson, as he now has 21 homeruns. The Yankees only need to keep their veteran power kings off the DL to keep a run like this going. Swisher recently went down to that list, but as Harper falls yet again to the pitching of the Yankees, their lead in the division only grows over Baltimore as Cano gets ready to lead the homerun derby team come the All-Star break.

Finally the team that just wont back down is the Dodgers. Did anyone see this coming??? Oh wait, my friend Chris called this on the podcast earlier this season, some Giants fan he is. Some how the Dodgers, even with the absence of Kemp just keep bringing the wins home. Tonight Dee Gordon was the hero with the walk off win. Their team has put together a very impressive season so far, as they lead the leagues with 42 wins, only the Rangers and Yankees are close with 40 wins each. But that's two AL teams so it seems the Dodgers don't have much to worry about. Whether it is Either, Loney or Gordon, one of the Dodgers comes through with the clutch hit and they never miss the opportunity. Kershaw of course has been another big piece as he has had another great season, and the surprising Chris Capuano has played a big role. Capuano currently leads the team in ERA and wins, good thing he and Cueto are on my fantasy team. The Dodgers have already left San Diego, Colorado and Arizona in the dust, with only San Francisco anywhere near by as the Dodgers look to end that with their walk-off win tonight against the White Sox and the Giants loss to the Mariners making it a 5 game separation.
