Blockbuster busted???

The Dodgers took the MLB world by shock on August 25th with their big trade with the Red Sox picking up Josh Beckett, Nick Punto, the injured Carl Crawford, and most importantly Adrian Gonzales in their attempt to take down the Giants in the NL West. Gonzales showed up in a Dodger uniform and immediately blasted a homerun over the wall.  Things looked good for LA, with Hanley and Victorino already acquired along with some pitching help, the addition of these Red Sox made things look like they have it in the bag, especially with the Giants recently losing their star to suspension.  The Dodgers pulled a free agent kind of trade with free agency being so poor this coming off-season, they picked players off of other teams as if they were free agents.  The trade appears to be beneficial for the Sox as well as they look to build their future.
So jumping to today, which is not the end of the season, the Dodgers just fell to a full seven games behind the Giants (further back than were they were before the trade) and can't seem to be picking up the wins against the teams they need to with back to back series loses against the NL West (Giants and Diamondbacks). While is northern California the Giants have been winning a bunch of games since their pick up of Hunter Pence, who realistically has not contributed all that much. What is going on in LA? Why are the Dodgers struggling with all these new big names on the team who should be making them win? Is this blockbuster trade busted??? Let me know what you think
