Preparing for the postseason

Not much time left in the baseball season, yet so much still to decide.  The races on full blast with AL East, Central and West all still really close fights.  The NL is a bit of a different story as there is at least 5.5 games in between each division leader and the team trying to chase them. It looks like the Reds, Giants and no doubt the Nationals will all make the playoffs even if somehow they do not win their division. Looking back to the AL, starting with the East the Yankees currently hold a one game lead over the Orioles with the Yankees looking at an easier schedule to finish of the season. This would be a good story if the Orioles ran off with the division title, especially after it seemed the Yankees had this along time ago. This fight should go down to the last day of the season. In the Central, the White Sox currently hold a two game lead over the heavily favored but the continuously slipping Tigers. This still shocks me how well Chicago has done this year, their pick ups have been good with Youkilis and Lariano, we will see if they can hold on to their seat with the Cabrera and Fielder still smacking the ball for Detroit.  Then the Rangers, who have dominated all year have a three game lead on the hot Athletics. I give the division to the Rangers, but if they meet the A's in the playoffs, I would have to favor Oakland with their pitching and hitting being consistent while Texas only has their bats working for them.  The NL comes down to the Wildcard spots, Braves have one locked in my opinion if they can't catch the Nationals after sweeping them today.  Then the Cardinals, Dodgers, Phillies, Pirates, Brewers, Diamondbacks, and even Padres remain in the fight for the last spot.  With Posey and Giants nearly having a seat locked down, if McCutchen wants MVP the Pirates better take the Wildcard, same situation for Braun and Brewers or Holiday and the Cardinals. With the absence of Kershaw this late in the season, I have to make my prediction as the Cardinals taking the last seat.
