As we get deeper into November, names are starting to disappear and trades are being made. With the Marlins and Jays deal fully done and in the books, the Marlins went back looking for somebody to actually add to the team. Now who did they find? Why Juan Pierre, and a $1.6million deal for one year. Do not expect Pierre to be any kind of a difference maker for that team. the Marlins got a lot more to do before they can say they can fight for the division next year. Kuroda signed with the Yankees for another year. he had a career high in wins last season wearing the big NY on his hat. But his salary increased $5million and he has reached the age of 37, maybe a little bit of a risk for the Yankees, but with all the guys the Jays are grabbing they got to do something right. Expect players like Bourn, Hamilton, and Loshe to be a target of the Yanks, Red Sox, and Orioles as thye look to stay on top of this much improved Toronto team. Royals resigned Jeremy Guthire for three years and $25million. Last season Guthrie joined the Royals in a trade with the Rockies, but between the two teams he only came away with 8 wins and had a 4.76 ERA. Neither of those teams fared well in 2012, but that is a good amount of commitment for a player with those numbers. Going back to the Rockies, they dished relive pitcher Matt Reynolds to the division enemy D-Backs for infielder Wheeler. Rockies looking to build up their future after a terrible 2012, so picking up the youngster would be a good move for them. We will see how far they go as there are many rumors or Cargo and Tulo getting traded to other teams. My pick would be that they do trade one of them before the next trade deadline if not sooner. Final contract news, the Tigers cut Raburn who only hit .171 last season. With Mr. Hunter now on the team, there is really no need for Raburn on the roster giving them a little more money space to possibly add another weapon to join Fielder, Cabrera, and now Hunter.
