LaHair off to Japan, Gomes wearing red yet again

Former Chicago Cub Brian LaHair signed a deal with a Japanese Pacific League team known as the the Softbank Hawks for 2 years and 4.5 million.  Cubs got 950,000 dollars out the deal, as their All-Star from last season jumps across the Pacific Ocean. LaHair did well in the first half of the season, but tanked after July hitting only .202 and lost the starting position to Rizzo. Not to heavy of a loss for the Cubs in my opinion as Rizzo looks like the guy they will be calling on for the years to come.  Other Chicago news, Wise gets another year with the White Sox for $700,000 as the Sox hope to see him continue making some great plays out in the field after preserving the game for Buerhle in '09. Continuing with the outfielders, Jonny Gomes got a big raise pulling a Damon move and leaving the A's for the Red Sox.  After getting $1 million with Oakland he now gets $10 million over two years in Boston.  Gomes showed some good numbers with the A's and the Sox look for him to be big a good piece of their offense along with another man they hope to sign, Cody Ross.  The two would make some good power against left handers and a couple guys in the outfield to represent the team. Gomes goes from wearing that bright red in Cincinnati and Washington to a darker version in Boston. When it comes to leaving teams, it appears Figgins is done with Seattle as he never produced as the Mariners were hoping. He will get the $9 million for the fourth year of his contract, but other than that he has been designated hoping for a new contract from another organization.  He never hit under .267 while with the Angels, but he batted .188 in 2011 for Seattle and a total of .227 while being a Mariner.  Finally if you are a Cardinal fan, don't worry Freese is ok, he did crash his car into a tree, but he fine.  Just avoided a deer, but the crash will not keep him from playing.
