The season has started! Baseball is back and underway...key notes to start the season, Yu Darvish was one out away from pitching a perfect game when a single was hit up the middle to ruin everything by Marwin Gonzales. Great game for Darvish however bringing the win in for the Rangers and almost getting the perfect game against the Astros, the same team Cain got his against last season.

Clayton Kershaw pitched a shutout in the first game between the Giants and Dodgers, the run that made the difference was in fact a homerun hit by Kershaw himself. It was an intense battle between Kershaw and Cain, but the Dodgers got to the Giants bullpen leading to the Dodger victory. Game two in the series was another pitching duel as this time the Giants brought out the strong arm with Madison Bumgarner pitching 8 shutout innings and followed up by Romo who picked up the save. It was Ryu first start in Major League Baseball for the Dodgers, he pitched well only allowing one run but the Giants came out on top 3-0.

Bryce Harper started his season strong hitting two homeruns in his first two at bats, the man who looks to be staring at a possible World Series opportunity and now a possible MVP award is a guy to keep your eye on all season to see what he can produce. Michael Morse, Carlos Gonzales, and Troy Tulowitzki each have two homeruns on the season already as well as the Mariners have taken the first two over the A's and the Rockies have split the first two game with the Brewers.

A rough few days for some players, as last years CY Young award winners both came up unsuccessful as Dickey took the loss against the Indians in his Blue Jay debut and the Rays could not come through for Price as the Orioles showed their batting strength with Davis, Weiters and Jones doing well at plate. Weiters in the first inning became the first Oriole in history to hit a homerun off of David Price. Ryan Ludwick is out with shoulder problems after sliding into third base in game one of the season, he is expected to be out at least 3 months. Johan Santana is in need of surgery on his shoulder yet again, as the Mets are short handed on the mound with Santana being out of the picture to start the year.
