As we approach the deadline tomorrow, many deals are already in the books. Most recently, the Red Sox picked up Jake Peavy in a three team deal. Boston also acquired two minor leaguers from the Tigers, as Detroit picked up Jose Iglesias who is hitting .330 this season. The White Sox picked up multiple minor leaguers as they in the process of rebuilding. Tigers have been busy as they also picked up Jose Veras to take over in the bullpen from the Astros. Houston got a minor leaguer and a player to be named later. The Angels sent another one of their relievers to Atlanta as Scott Downs left LA and joined the Braves. The Rays picked up Crain from the White Sox to help them out in their fight against Boston. The AL East seems to be turning to the slumping White Sox for help to win the division. The Yankees looked to the other side of Chicago however in the pick up of former Yankee Soriano who was traded for pitcher Corey Black. With Granderson in rehab, the Yankees hope to have their outfield rebuilt shortly after Jeters return. Baltimore picked up some pitching help with KROD joining the team in exchange for a minor league infielder. The Dodgers have also been busy picking up relievers with Marmol joining them from Cubs and Brian Wilson off the free agent list. The Rangers looked for some help on the mound, as the picked up Matt Garza from the Cubs for three minor leaguers and a player to be named later.

In big injuries, Tim Hudson is down and out with an ankle injury after getting stepped on covering first base. Also the DL is finally where Pujols landed after much time of suffering from soreness. With the Angels clearly out of the race at the time, it was a good time to let Pujols rest and prevent any further injury. Sean Marshal had to hit the 60 day DL, leaving the Reds a bit short handed in the bullpen as they look up in the standings at the Pirates and Cardinals. Pirates have had their issues as well though will McDonald hitting the 60 day DL, out for the rest of the year. Other players who will get no more action, are the men busted with PED usage. Ryan Braun got suspended for the rest of the year as AROD looks to be gone for a while.

When it comes to contracts second base was a big hit, the Astros signed Altuve to a four year deal while Dustin Pedroia signed an eight year contract with the Red Sox as Big Papi is coming to end of his career, Pedroia is becoming the full face of the team
