Josh Norman Headed to the Nations Capital

Josh Norman has agreed to a five year, 75 million dollar deal with the Washington Redskins today. The deal includes a guaranteed 51.1 million dollars which is the most for a cornerback in NFL history. Norman will be making 15 million dollars a season, passing Patrick Peterson at 14.1 as the highest paid cornerback in the game. After the Panthers cut their franchise tag, teams got aggressive to bring him on to their roster, as word was 49ers or Redskins. But the Saints also made an offer, as they viewed Norman twice coming off his amazing season. Panthers said they needed to let him go to make salary cap flexibility coming upon the draft. This is a huge pickup for the Redskins, as they were able to take their division last season, but slacked a bit when it came to defense. I honestly think Norman just tossed his great opportunity to be a Super Bowl Champion with Carolina, but perhaps in a few years the Redskins will regroup enough to be considered a contender. The positive I see out of this, is we get to see him battle Odell and Dez twice a year now in their division battles.
