Each series is at least two games in, as teams often have different personalities in the playoffs. From the crazy eight seat over first seat upsets, to intense four vs five seat duels, the NBA playoffs are always fun and entertaining. Now that we are a few games in, I am ready to make my prediction for the entire NBA playoff series.
1. Cavaliers(1) vs. Pistons(8)
Detroit makes the playoffs!! Many are excited to see them there, but you can say luck hasn't been on their side. Coach Van Gundy has had his negative input about officials during his teams 0-2 start against Cleveland. LeBron has been a beast, as he and his All-Star cast teammates have put up great numbers. Game three is tonight, as I expect the Cavs to take it within five games.
-Cavaliers 4-1
2. Raptors(2) vs. Pacers(7)
The Pacers shocked many with their great first game win over Lowry and the Raptors. The Pacers defense was strong and shut down the Raptors offense, winning by ten. The Raptors have rebounded with their adversity taking the last two games and the series lead. Game four is tomorrow in Indy, but the Raptors showed us home court doesn't mean anything winning the last game in Indy by 16 points. Look for them to continue to dominate.
-Raptors 4-2
3. Heat(3) vs. Hornets(6)
Coming into this series I didn't have much faith in Miami, with Bosh out and the Hornets being the hottest team in the East. But it looks like I have lost my series bet, as the Heat have gained confidence and lead 2-0. We may see the beginning of a comeback, as the first game in Charlotte is tomorrow. But I have been impressed by Miami so far and am going to stick with them in this series.
-Heat 4-2
4. Hawks(4) vs. Celtics(5)
Mant different inputs have been put in on this series, but I have been siding with the Hawks the whole time, and so far it is working out. Hawks lead 2-0 as their defense has looked really good, holding the Celtics down to just 72 points on game two. They have impressed me and I think the Hawks are good threat against the Cavaliers if all the favored teams come away victorious. Game three is tonight in Boston, the series will get intense but the Hawks will come away with it.
-Hawks 4-3
5. Warriors(1) vs. Rockets(8)
The big story in this one is Mr.MVP and his health as Curry left the game in game one and has not appeared back in sense. The Warriors still won game one and two without him, but the Rockets came away with game three on a shot that they are now saying should't have counted due to an offensive foul by James Harden. Curry should be back by game four on Sunday, as the Warriors look to move on to the next round if he is healthy.
-Warriors 4-1
6. Spurs(2) vs. Grizzlies(7)
This series is a joke. The Grizzlies were slow at the end of the regular season, while the Spurs are looking to win it all on Duncan's last season. The first two games have been slaughters, as the Spurs are have way done with their sweep. Game three is tonight in Memphis, but don't expect a close one. Vegas odds are crazy, as taking the Spurs gains you nothing.
-Spurs 4-0
7. Thunder(3) vs. Mavericks(6)
Game two was a shocker in this series, as the Mavericks came away with the win due to Westbrook and Durant not being able to shoot for their lives. Thunder have regrouped with good numbers, taking game three and a 2-1 series lead. With Durant leadership and Russel and his energy and dance moves, look for the Thunder to come away with this series.
-Thunder 4-2
8. Clippers(4) vs. Trail Blazers(5)
The Clippers have looked really strong, as there was a lot of question about them coming into the series. They blew out Portland in the last game by 31 as they took a 2-0 lead in the series. Game three is tomorrow, as the Trail Blazers are going to make their comeback. Though down by two, I am making the bold prediction that they comeback and get ready to try and haunt the Warriors since they are one of the few teams who were able to beat them over the regular season.
-Trail Blazers 4-3
Overall in the end, though the Warriors set a new regular season record, I am taking the Spurs to win the West and LeBron and the Cavs to win the East. Curry's health is what is making me question how they will do, as with Green and Thompson they will get through anyone besides the Spurs. Tim Duncan wins another championship, as LeBron still can't make Cleveland happy. Spurs will take it 4-3.
