NFL Week 12 Predictions

Week 11 ended with a bang, as the Chiefs and Rams finished with the 3rd highest scoring game in NFL history and the highest scoring game in Monday Night Football history. Those two teams showed they could bring punishment with the big passes, consistent first downs, and huge turnovers. It would be great to see them meet up again in February. Rams finished on top with a final of 54-51 with a couple late interceptions on deep passes to seal it up. Aaron Donald came through with some huge forced fumbles that lead to two Ebukam defensive TDs. Taking a look at this game though, I bet Mahomes and Goff are two of the best QBs we will be watching in the years to come. We had some other great finishes this week, as the Cowboys, Broncos, Ravens, Lions, Texans, Giants, Raiders, and Seahawks all finished with clutch defensive plays or game winning field goals to take the game by three or less. It was an exciting week, but one that did not work out for many of the bettors. The books finally had a lucky week, as we enter Week 12 where the spreads are large and divisional games get intense. Marcus still holds the season lead, by one.
Week 11 Records
Tommy 8-5
Lauren 6-7
Marcus 8-5
Brenden (guest) 4-9
Bears (7-3) vs Lions (4-6)
Tommy - The Bears are looking good. I have been impressed with how accurate Trubisky has been with the ball, finding his target right in between a couple Viking defenders on Sunday. The Lions defense is one that can be beaten. We will see how the Bears feel on the shorter rest, but I bet they still come through forcing turnovers and getting more sacks to win it. CHI 27-21
Lauren - Detroit won last week's game against the Panthers right when everyone was counting them out. A game they should not have won. The Bears manhandled the Vikings on Sunday night with that awesome defense. This Thanksgiving morning game should not be too competitive. Bears should continue manhandling the NFC North. CHI 31-20
Marcus - Mack is going to make Stafford eat turf, or dirt, or whatever multiple times. Due to the strong Chicago defense this won't be much of a competition. CHI 30-17
Derrick (guest) - The Bears defense looks to be getting better every week. They just handled a "Super Bowl contending" team an they've already beaten the Lions a few weeks back. The only was I see Detroit having a chance here is if the Bears are still tired after a quick turnaround game. CHI 23-17
Redskins (6-4) vs Cowboys (5-5)
Tommy - Alex Smith is out, as is the Redskins season now. Mark Sanchez has been picked up, but it will be up to McCoy to try and keep hopes alive. He gets to start facing a Cowboys team coming off a big win over the Falcons with a last second field goal. Dak and Elliot have been looking better, as it will be up to their offense to keep things rolling in order to get the W's. The Redskins don't have the ball security they did with Smith, which is why Vander Esch will be a big piece to bring them down like he was last week. DAL 24-16
Lauren - A week ago I would have said that this game was going to be fairly close. Two teams that weren't playing up to potential going at each other for the divisional lead. Now, Alex Smith has two broken bones in his leg, the Redskins have signed Mark Sanchez, an have seemingly kissed their season goodbye. Dak and the Boys are playing much better and should take the win at home. DAL 27-17
Marcus - I have to take the Boys here. The Redskins lost a key piece in Smith and I don't trust McCoy to carry that team. Elliot has some fun and the Boys win this one. DAL 23-10
Derrick - If Alex Smith was still around for this game, I might give a slight edge to the Redskins here but since he's out for the season and the Cowboys offense is finally seeing life since acquiring Amari Cooper, I think Dallas will be able to take this one comfortably. DAL 28-14

Falcons (4-6) vs Saints (9-1)
Tommy - 48 points against last years champs. Now they get to take on one of the defenses that has suffered a lot of injuries and had a hard time especially in the secondary. Drew Brees should have a good time at home and put up big numbers yet again. Matt Ryan keeps facing the same issue, the pressure gets to him and he doesn't enough time for big clutch plays down the field to Jones. The Saints will keep that going for him in this AFC South blow out. NO 41-23
Lauren -  The Falcons have lost two games in a row to Cleveland and Dallas. Their defense is depleted to the point where any team can run all over them. Their offense can't seem to make plays. Meanwhile, the Saints are firing on all cylinders. Their offense is clicking like no other. Their defense can read any QB. Saints get a big win on Thanksgiving night. NO 34-21
Marcus - No contest! Brees will find Thomas and Kamara over and over again. Saints win this one against that sad Falcons defense. NO 37-20
Derrick - Drew Bress is the MVP and the New Orleans Saints look ready to go for the Super Bowl. That doesn't mean they are perfect though. Their defense does give up a lot, especially the secondary but fortunately so does Atlanta's. If Matt Ryan stays consistent, this should be an offensive explosion of a game. I will give the slight edge to the Saints since they have a more well-rounded offense. NO 38-31
Jaguars (3-7) vs Bills (3-7)
Tommy - That will be rough weather up there in Buffalo, what looks to be some true home field advantage. It is tough to trust Bortles in this kind of situation to come through will any big offensive plays. But it is Fournette I like about their offense anyway. This kind of weather means mostly a running game anyway and I think the Jags get off the bad streak they are sitting on with a win. JAX 13-9
Lauren - There was news early this week that Josh Allen as set to return, but I think it would be a mistake for Buffalo, not to give Barkley another chance. The Bills are coming off their bye and will have the advantage of knowing how to play in the snow. The Jags defense looked so good against PIT, but I think it was a fluke and I think Buffalo has a real chance here in the cold weather. Go Bills!! BUF 24-21
Marcus - No way you can trust the Bills with what they have been going through at QB. The Jaguars defense is way to good to fall to these boys. JAX 20-10
Derrick - The Jaguars should have had last week's game against the Steelers but that's all history now. Buffalo is coming off a bye and hosting a team that is coming from 80-degree weather tot he 40s. On paper, the Jaguars should have this game no problem with their great defense stomping out a non-existent offense, but I just have the sneaky feeling Buffalo might surprise everyone. BUF 21-17
Browns (3-6-1) vs Bengals (5-5)
Tommy - The Bengals were missing Green while visiting the Ravens and still looked like they could compete. I like Mayfield and the Browns, but something is telling me I got to take the Bengals this week in Cincy. CIN 23-21
Lauren - Baker Mayfield and the Browns are coming off their bye and looking for another win. Andy Dalton and the Bengals just lost a division game against Baltimore and rookies QB Lamar Jackson, who ran all over the their defense. I think the well-reseted Browns will win another game in Cincy. CLE 24-20
Marcus - Baker will take this game, we are going to see a great display of his skills coming off the bye and ready for a win. The Browns win a close one. CLE 27-24
Derrick - This one is pretty interesting in the fact that Hue Jackson , who is now a special assistant to the head coach, gets to go up against the team that fired him in the same season. Other than that, I don't see the Bengals having too hard of a time dealing with the Browns. CIN 28-14
Patriots (7-3) vs Jets (3-7)
Tommy - Both teams are coming off the bye, but this should be no contest. Brady is rested, had his time to study, and is ready to add a win to his list coming off their last game. The Patriots will complete the third down plays the Jets can't, while forcing the turnovers the Jets won't. NE 33-13
Lauren - Honestly, this game looks like a no-brainer, but I thought that when the Patriots played the Titans too and they proved me wrong. If this game were in Foxborough the Pats would win by 20 points. But having to go to enemy territory I'm lowering their win to four points. NE 27-23
Marcus - Brady has a big spread to cover in this one, but he will have it taken care of in time to sit the 4th quarter out. He will have his fruit punch and imagine he is in some better weather. NE 41-14
Derrick - Hell would have to freeze over before Tom Brady allows a rookie quarterback in his own division beat him, that is if Darnold even plays. The Patriots are coming off a pretty disappointing loss in Tennessee but having the bye week and possibly Rob Gronkowski coming back form injury, New England should be able to stomp all over their division rivals. NE 35-10

Giants (3-7) vs Eagles (4-6)
Tommy - The Eagles have given very little reason to believe they can put together a good performance on the field. I know I am talking about them vs the Giants, but the Giants offense has looked a lot better these last couple weeks. I am sure the Eagles defensive line will get to Manning and ruin a couple drives, but Saquon and Beckham will make a few plays to make the difference. NYG 24-20
Lauren - The Super Bowl hangover is REAL. I mean I know they just came from playing the best offense in the NFL, but all season they've only looked sub-par. New York got their third win of the season in a shootout against Tampa Bay. I'd like to think Philly is going to win this easily, but I don't think it will be all that easy. Still, the Eagles are home and I like the advantage. PHI 20-14
Marcus - Wentz is due for a good game. Those Eagles can't drop one at home against the Giants, the team at the bottom of their division. The Eagles will look like the champs again and runaway with this one. PHI 31-17
Derrick - It looks like the Giants are finally putting the pieces together and could make things interesting late into the season. Eli is utilizing Odell how he should be, Saquon is looking like a potential Rookie of the Tear candidate, and maybe that eight-game winning streak Odell said had to happen isn't so crazy after all. Let's also not forget, the Eagles just got slaughtered by the Saints, so their moral is probably not looking too good right now. NYG 33-27
49ers (2-8) vs Buccaneers (3-7)
Tommy - Bucs lost their TE to injury coming into Week 12. That is a big piece that they will miss. Now Winston is getting to start again and he looked good in his comeback attempt against the Giants. If he can find Evans and his big targets deep down the field, I bet he can put together the win. But the 49ers defense is a little different, as the Giants were thinking we have this in the bag. And no matter who starts for Tampa, they can't seem to put together a good game. I got the Niners. SF 20-17
Lauren - The QB tug-of-war continues in Tampa as Jameis Winston gets the start this week against the 49ers. He looked pretty good in the second half of last week's game. Nick Mullens will need to keep up his consistency with TE George Kittle to beat the Bucs in Tampa. I think Winston gets the win at home. TB 23-17
Marcus - Winston is back in starting and he will lead his team to a W. With his many talented receivers, Winston will have a good time putting up the points and locking up the win against those Santa Clara Niners. TB 27-13
Derrick - This is definitely not going to be the prettiest game to watch this week. The 49ers are on their 3rd quarterback but the Buccaneers have ab identity crisis when it comes to their quarterback situation. I think that even though the 49ers don't have as much talent in their roster, they don't make as many mistakes as the Buccaneers do and that will be the deciding factor. SF 23-20
Seahawks (5-5) vs Panthers (6-4)
Tommy - The Seahawks have shown us they are a team that always can put up a fight. Wilson is a beast and always keeps his team in the game. But I can't go against the Panthers in Carolina. They need this win after losing two in embarrassing ways. Newton will rally will his guy for a late win. CAR 31-28
Lauren - Seattle won a great game against the Pack. Their running game is starting to look like it did when they had Lynch. Carolina lost a heartbreaker to Detroit and want to bounce back in only the way they know how. This will be a running battle for sure, and I think McCaffrey will win. CAR 24-19
Marcus - My boy McCaffrey is gonna run all over this weakened Seahawks defense. He will get the yards rushing and receiving with Olsen making the big TD catches. CAR 33-20
Derrick - The Carolina Panthers are undefeated at home this year and Cam Newton is looking like the Cam Newton that took his team to the Super Bowl a few years back. Seattle is definitely no joke, their defense is always up for the task and Russell Wilson is carrying his team to playoff contention. In the end, I'll give it up to field advantage. CAR 25-23

Raiders (2-8) vs Ravens (5-5)
Tommy - Lamar Jackson was a beast and is going to have fun this coming weekend. No way the Raiders will be able to stop both his run and pass game. Whenever he can't find a target he will run to the outside for a gain of 10. I bet he runs into the enzone three times, as the Ravens take this one with ease. We may not see Flacco start in Ravens colors again. BAL 37-14
Lauren - I was not expecting the Raiders to win that game in AZ. They just don't have any chemistry. Plus, they should be plying for the first overall pick. Baltimore and Lamar Jackson looked really good last week and I don't think this week will be any different. BAL 28-23
Marcus - The Raiders are coming off a win, but Lamar Jackson isn't going to lose to them. I think we will be seeing a QB rushing record. BAL 35-24
Derrick - Normally you would think that a team facing a quarterback that is only starting his second game would have no trouble grabbing the W, but then there are the 2018 Raiders. Lamar Jackson may only be starting his second game, but he looked very good against Cincinnati which is a better team than the Raiders. Their defense has not looked good and I feel that Jackson will get to run all over them. BAL 24-13
Cardinals (2-8) vs Chargers (7-3)
Tommy - Another game that will be a joke, if we were talking with spread numbers it may be a different story. But at home the Chargers will run through Arizona, as Gordon and Gates put up big numbers and the Chargers outscore the Cardinals enough by halftime. Fitzgerald may have a nice moment or two, but the Chargers cause a few turnovers and win this big. LAC 38-14
Lauren - I Still can't believe that LA lost that game against Denver. Rivers and Gates looked like they did seven years ago. The Cardinals looked ok against the Raiders, but that doesn't say much. The Chargers should be able to win big at home and regain their confidence. LAC 34-21
Marcus - The San Diego Chargers are still in shock after falling to the Broncos. Expect to see them coming out angry and ready to bring punishment. Rosen will wish he stayed a little to the east in Arizona. LAC 27-3
Derrick - I want to say that maybe the Cardinals' defense is getting better and has a good shot at containing the Chargers, but I would be lying. Philip Rivers is coming of probably his worst start of the season, and it really wasn't that bad, so he's going to be in redeem mode for this game. LAC 24-7
Steelers (7-2-1) vs Broncos (4-6)
Tommy - The Steelers played terrible and still won. If they could play that bad and still get the W they shouldn't have much of an issue in this one. Brown and JuJu will want to make up for their apparent absence early in the last game, as the Steelers score so much in the first half the Broncos will look like a different team in second half, but it won't be enough. PIT 34-24
Lauren - Both of these teams are off miracle-like wins last week. Big Ben ran for the winning touchdown against the Jags and Brandon mcManus beat the Chargers with his leg. I think Pittsburgh's offense should be able to outscore Keenum and the Broncos, but Denver's defense is always tough at home. PIT 29-24
Marcus - Big Ben will make up for his nervous performance against the Jags. He just couldn't throw straight thinking about previous games against JAX. It will be a different story vs Denver. PIT 27-21
Derrick - Denver is always tough at home. I would like to say it's because of the defense, which is not a bad defense at all, but there's always consider altitude factor to consider. The Steelers just came off a pretty lucky win against one of the best defenses in the NFL, so I think Big Ben takes a little more care of the football and his defense does the rest, this should be a W in the books for the Steelers. PIT 23-20

Dolphins (5-5) vs Colts (5-5)
Tommy - Andrew Luck and those Colts have looked really good these last few weeks. The Titans were ranked one of the best defenses when it comes to allowing points, yet Luck, Hilton, and the Colts put up 38 points. Luck will keep it going and out score Miami with ease. IND 30-20
Lauren - This is a weird game. Indy and Luck won big against Tennessee. Miami is coming off the bye. The Colts defense is still beat up, but they'll be playing a rusty QB. It really could go either way, but I think the Colts are feeling good after owning the Titans, so I'll give them the win. IND 27-20
Marcus - The Colts have looked hot, but the Dolphins will put out their fire. Tannehill is back and he will lead his team to a win. It will be a whole new offense out there. MIA 24-21
Derrick - I feel like I've seen this story before. The Colts start off slow and ugly, start to show some signs of life, and then all of the sudden Andrew Luck becomes Mr. Clutch and takes his team tot he playoffs. If there is any division to do that in, it's definitely this one and I feel like Luck is about to show us a thing or two. IND 30-21
Packers (4-5-1) vs Vikings (5-4-1)
Tommy - The Packers are cursed this year and can't win on the road. Somehow something always gets in the way. Multiple missed FGs, dropped kickoffs, or several calls going the other way, the Packers can't win unless in Green Bay this year. Rodgers would love to take the win keeping playoff hopes away from the Vikings, but the Minnesota defense will be the difference with a couple clutch catches from Diggs and Thielen. MIN 28-24
Lauren - The Packers lost a hard-fought game against the Seahawks last week. Minnesota last a depressing game to Chicago. The Pack doesn't have the beefy defense that Bears have, but their offense can be far more clutch when it needs to be. Question is, is clutch enough to beat the Vikings at home? For the Packers I think it may be. GB 24-23
Marcus - Rodgers is going to come through against his main enemy. My boy Martinez will make Cousins suffer and the Packer will win this one against the Vikings. GB 31-24
Derrick - This is going to be a games that comes down to the end. The most glaring stat that stands out to me though is that Green Bay has not won a game on the road this season. This game is probably one of the biggest rivalry games in football and the home team fans will be out in full force for this one. I think what it will come down to is Stefon Diggs being able to run through the Packers lackluster run defense and be one step ahead of Aaron Rodgers' magical arm. MIN 30-27
Titans (5-5) vs Texans (7-3)
Tommy - Possibly no Mariota? Well though the Titans will be great one week and terrible the next, I have to go with the home team and their defense in a game possibly against Tennessee using their backup and relying so much more on the run game. That Texans D-line will get the best of Tennessee's offensive attempts, forcing some three and outs and using the good field position to their advantage, adding the extra points to lock up the win. HOU 20-13
Lauren - After beating the Patriots, I would have thought the Titans were going to give the Texans a good game. Now, Mariota looks to be out and the Texans defense looks better than ever. I think JJ Watt and the rest of the Texans defense should make it so DeShaun Watson can get a big division win at home. HOU 28-21
Marcus - Tennessee is dinged up yet again and you can't go against that Texans defense. JJ will have some fun as the Texans win this one easy at home. HOU 30-13
Derrick - Tennessee has been the definition of inconsistent this year. Houston is on a seven-game winning streak and I'm sure they have no desire to have it end against their division rival. There is a chance Mariota might not be playing this game and that would mean have Blaine Gabbert fill in and being a 49ers fans, I know where that will go. I think the Texans will make it number eight after this one is over. HOU 35-14
