Only one day was needed

The Oakland Athletics just finished up a sweep of the Texas Rangers to win the AL West on game number 162 of the season. Today was first and only day the A's held the lead in the West by themselves. But hey that is all they needed! With some great offense and clutch pitching, especially from Balfour in the series, the A's wrapped up the season by winning the division and moving into the postseason in a higher ranking. I have had a hard time deciding this, but I think I have to give team of the year to the A's. The Nationals and Orioles were also in thought, but the A's pulled it off with a team that none thought they could do it with. Lots of doubt were put on the A's with the Rangers dominating all year and the Angels looking like the team to beat coming to the season.  The A's became the first team in history to be down by 5 games with only 9 games left and still come out on top. The A's put together their rage and showed everyone they got what it takes over this series, as they stumped Mike Trout and his hopes of the playoffs and then finished it all off by stepping in front of Hamilton and the Rangers. Congratulations to the A's and their comeback division title.
