World Series Update

The Tigers and Giants broke through the LCS and moved on to the big series. Tigers shut down the Yanks as the Giants yet again came back from a deep deposit and defeated the Cardinals. But if you look at the history, the team with the 7 game series (Giants) always seems to do great in the World Series against a team that comes of a sweep (Tigers). Two games in and that appears to be the case, as the Giants now up 2-0 heading into Detroit. The Giants pitching has been great from Zito to Lincecum to Bumgarner. While the expected to do great Verlander walked off the mound sour after seeing all that Panda power.  Pablo Sandoval hit one more World Series homer than Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Orlando Cepeda, Will Clark, Jack Clark, Matt Williams, Jeffrey Leonard, Johnny Mize and Bobby "The Giants Win the Pennant" Thomson hit in all their various World Series combined in that first game.  Sandoval was amazing with his 3 smacks over the walls, tying him with Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson, and Albert Pujols as they are the only others to send 3 over the wall in a World Series game.  The game two story was more of a competition as the breaks still went on the Giants side, with the foul ball and bunt single. But it was a pitching battle between Fister and Bumgarner with a 2-0 final. Vogelsong and Cain are due up for the Giants as Sanchez and as I call him Mad Max are up for the Tigers. Expect to see the Tigers bats come more alive in Detroit, while the arms stay hot as well as the up coming match up is between two hot pitchers.
