What is up around the Leagues

Just got back from the long trip and we have got a lot of updating to do! To start with the recent news, Justin Upton has been traded...finally...after a lot of talk about him going to many places such as Seattle, he ends up joining his brother in Atlanta.  Upton and Chris Johnson were both sent to Atlanta in a 7 player deal that got the DBacks former All-Star Martin Prado and 4 other minor leaguers. Upton stated that is was a bittersweet moment when he found out as he is excited to play with his brother. I just hope they don't collide and get in fights on the field. This looks to be a big boost for the Braves offense, as they look to keep up with the Nationals in the upcoming season in the NL East. Arizona on the other hand, seems to be looking to build up for the future as they have been seeing a few of their key players put new hats on and they have been picking up the older fellas like Hinske and Chavez.
In other news Josh Hamilton signed with the Angels...yea thats right I said the Angels back in mid December.  He signed a five year deal to now play against his former team were he will be getting a $125 million.  Pujols, Trout, and Hamilton all put together looks like one dangerous combination.  After the Angels did not make the playoffs last year, they make the biggest signing yet again to try and do it this coming season.  Nick Swisher hopped on the Cleveland show and signed with the Indians for $56 million and four years, right before Christmas.   The Red Sox have been busy, they have picked up Napoli, Drew, Gomes, David Ross, Dempster, and Victorino.  They have needed to build up as they viewed the Blue Jays take a lot of big names from multiple sources. The Jays were not done however, the signed Mark DeRosa and Henry Blanco to add on to their already build offense. The Yanks got their guys back, the Jays and Sox made their moves, but there has not been much from the Rays and Orioles.
Pedro Martinez even rejoined the Red Sox this off season as he picked up the assistant GM position. On other pitcher news, Grienke went from one LA team to another. He signed with the Dodgers for 6 years and $147 million.  With all those bats already added, Grienke should be a good addition with Kershaw in the run for the NL West.  Though the Nationals already have one of the best rotations in baseball, they went ahead and added Dan Haren and Rafael Soriano to the team, making their line of arms by far the best in baseball.  Braves got the bats, Nats got the arms, can't wait to see this battle unfold.  Just to point out a couple more names, Lariano joined the Pirates, Adams signed with the Phillies, Marcum signed with the Mets, and Loshe and Bourn are still out there.
